Forged aluminium piston skirt is the future development direction and goal of engine. For heavy-duty and high-power diesel locomotive engines, in order to meet the needs of high explosive pressure (greater than 20 MPa), forged aluminium piston will gradually become the mainstream of design.

Aluminum piston: Combustion chamber is composed of cylinder head, cylinder wall, etc. It bears gas and pressure and transfers this force to connecting rod to drive crankshaft to rotate.

Material: Aluminum alloy is widely used in piston of automobile engine.

Low mass (50%-70% of cast iron piston); good thermal conductivity (about three times of cast iron); high thermal expansion coefficient.

Composition: It can be divided into top, ring groove and skirt. The top of the piston is an integral part of the combustion chamber, which is used to withstand gas pressure.

The top shape of piston in gasoline engine includes: (1) flat top: small heating area, widely used. (2) convex top: used with hemispherical combustion chamber. (3) concave top: In order to prevent the high compression ratio engine from colliding with the valve, the depth of the concave pit can also be used to adjust the compression ratio. (4) Combination top. The groove part of the piston ring is partially cut with several grooves for installing the piston ring. The piston skirt is the piston motion guide and bears the side pressure. Its types are:

(1) Full skirt type: skirt is a thin-walled cylinder.

(2) Trailer type: remove all skirts of non-bearing surface. Deformation of piston skirt deformed piston and corresponding measures adopted: thermal expansion, side pressure and gas pressure.

Deformation law:

(1) The thermal expansion of the piston is larger than that of the cylinder, which makes the clearance of the cylinder smaller. Because the temperature of piston is higher than that of cylinder wall, and the expansion coefficient of aluminium alloy is larger than that of cast iron.

(2) The piston expands from top to bottom from large to small. Because the temperature is high and low, the wall is thick and thin.

(3) The circumference of skirt is approximately elliptical, and the long axis is along the axis of pin hole. Because of the large amount of metal at the pin seat, the expansion is large, and the effect of side pressure is the result.

Free forging has a single weight of 4 tons, a maximum width of 2.5 m, a maximum length of 10 m, a forging ring of 3.9 m, and a maximum diameter of 700*40*2200.

10000 ton multidirectional die forging hydraulic press

The projection area of die forgings is 0.33(aluminium), the maximum length is 2 m, the maximum width is 1 m and the maximum height is 0.8 M.
