Chinalco high-end manufacturing solves the key aluminum material problem of domestic civil aircraft

From the successful first flight five years ago to the completion of the certification test flight today, Southwest Aluminum, East Light Industry and Northwest Aluminum, which belong to the high-end manufacturing of Chinalco, undertook the main research and production tasks. Behind the domestic civil aircraft flying in the blue sky, Chinalco's high-end manufacturing has never been absent.

In recent years, the high-end aluminum materials produced by Chinalco have been widely used in many national key projects such as the "Long March" series rockets, the "Shenzhou" series spacecraft, the "Chang'e" series satellites, the "Tiangong" series target aircraft, the "Tianwen" probe, and domestic civil aircraft, making important contributions to promoting the development of China's aerospace industry. Among them, the development and application of domestic civil aircraft aluminum materials made by Chinalco high-end manufacturing have solved the problem of "necking" of domestic civil aircraft aluminum materials.

At present, Southwest Aluminum and Dongqing have provided dozens of specifications of aluminum alloy materials for C919, which are mainly used in wings, structural parts, window frames, landing gear and other parts. They are the key structural parts of aircraft. The aluminum alloy plates, forgings and profiles produced have been supplied to COMAC in batches, and many technologies have filled the domestic gap.

In 2022, Chinalco's high-end manufacturing of civil aircraft aluminum materials will further focus on tackling key technical problems of products and batch production of Engineering approved materials, further promote the construction of "Joint Laboratory for research and application of civil aircraft aluminum materials", focus on building a core platform for tackling key technical problems of civil aircraft aluminum materials and a source of new technologies and products, continue to deepen the in-depth cooperation with COMAC, and let more "Chinalco's high-end manufacturing" equip domestic civil aircraft.
