West Aluminum - West Aluminum Industry Telecom: In recent years, Southwest Aluminum has seized the opportunity of the explosive growth of new energy vehicles, actively cultivated future industries, accelerated the formation of new quality productivity, and continuously strengthened new driving forces for development. At the recently concluded 19th Hangzhou Asian Games, Geely's "Top Hat" special car, one of the official designated vehicles for the Asian Games, showcased its style, with most of its all aluminum body being made of "Southwest Aluminum".
In 2016, China Aluminum Group established the Geely project team and entrusted the heavy responsibility of research and development and mass production to Southwest Aluminum. Southwest Aluminum and China Aluminum Materials Institute have organized a capable and efficient team to invest in intense research and development and production. In 2020, the Geely project achieved mass production and supply, mainly used for body connectors, structural components, body interiors and some structures, four doors, hood inner panels, and engine hood outer panels. The aluminum conversion rate of the body reached 97%, making the model meet the world's strictest vehicle safety requirements while reducing weight by 30%. In 2022, 100 Geely British TX5 domestic version new taxis equipped by "Southwest Aluminum Manufacturing" were officially put into operation in Dalian. This is a typical achievement of Southwest Aluminum's focus on the market and practical demand, accelerating the industrial application and promotion of major technological achievements. At this Asian Games, Geely's "Top Hat" special car, one of the official designated vehicles, provided supplementary emergency travel services for delegations and media from various Asian countries (regions).
As early as 2010, Southwest Aluminum began to develop automotive panel materials, making it one of the earliest aluminum processing enterprises in China. It also built a lightweight production line for automobiles, forming an annual production capacity of 100000 tons of automotive panels, and achieving mass supply of body panels. In recent years, Southwest Aluminum has continued to carry out material development and application technology research on aluminum panels for automobiles, mastering the basic theories and methods of microstructure, properties, and surface quality control of aluminum panels for automotive panels. Multiple series of body panel products have achieved performance levels that reach the level of advanced aluminum processing enterprises abroad.
At present, Southwest Aluminum has completed material certification for multiple automobile factories such as SAIC, NIO, BAIC New Energy, Changan Automobile, and Jinkang Automobile. The products have been applied to multiple joint ventures and domestic new energy vehicles. In local automobile brands in Chongqing, we have collaborated with Changan Automobile to successfully develop A00 grade aluminum plate preparation and forming technology, and have successively cooperated with Selis.
In the process of improving material development and market technology service capabilities, Southwest Aluminum has established cooperative relationships with more than 10 domestic testing institutions and research institutes. In 2022, Southwest Aluminum seized the opportunity of explosive growth in new energy vehicles and deeply cultivated the automotive panel market, resulting in a year-on-year increase of 43.5% in the production and sales of automotive panels. In 2023, Southwest Aluminum's automobile panel production and sales have once again boosted, achieving a year-on-year increase of 173% in single month production in August.
